Our kids here at
E.C.O.R. are a busy group! Our Sunday school kicked off in September and
we have 40 kids attending our classes on Sunday mornings. The kids arrive
at 9:45 each week for choir practice and head into class at 10:00 am. Our
fall focus is on the Old testament- learning about Abraham, Moses,
Jeremiah, Daniel and others. Please ask the kids about their lessons each
week- they have great retention and would love to share items they make
during class. Also, check out our new children’s bulletin board in
the parish hall. There are lots of smiling faces hanging there, and some
other great photos too!
The Junior Youth
Group had its first outing on October 6th. 12 children
and 4 adults enjoyed a beautiful day for biking the Centennial Trail;
shared snacks and relaxed at Plantes Ferry Park. The JYG
targets kids in our 3rd-5th-grade age group, but
younger siblings (1st-2nd graders) are welcome to
attend some of our events! Our next gathering will be pizza and a movie on
November 3rd at E.C.O.R.
Our children will
be contributing bookmarks and Christmas Ornaments to the Craft Fair to be
held October 25-27. Even if you don’t purchase one personally, please
offer encouragement to our kids for supporting this E.C.O.R. event in
their own way.
Our children will
be doing two outreach projects during the Advent Season this year. Stay
tuned for more information on how EVERYONE can participate!
Calling All
E.C.O.R. adults! On December 1 we want all of you to join in on the Advent
Faire! There will be events suitable for “kids” of ALL ages. This
would be a great time for our youngest parishioners to get to know our
more tenured folks! Everyone is invited to share in the fun and kickoff
Advent with a bang! (or more appropriately a carol.) We still need a few
volunteers to help run games and work the food tables. If you are
interested in being a part of this event please call Adrienne Choate
891-2926 or Mary Covillo 928-6017.
We feel
truly Blessed to have had such a great start to our program year! Be on
the lookout for more wonderful events to come!
